As I watch (on TV) the Vancouver Winter Olympics, it is phenomenal the effort and persistence that it takes to get to that level of competition. Then, when someone ends with silver or bronze or 4th, the disappointment that some experience for not having made gold, yet it could be 1/100th of a second different. All of them are to be commended for their accomplishment. I just watched the qualitying runs for the snow boarding races. So many fell on the track, got up again and hopped to the top and finished their run.
Persistence is always a factor in moving forward and getting to the top. While some people give up when they fail once or twice and don’t believe their prior objective is now for them, it is those who put in a serious, persistent effort, those who keep getting up after many falls, those are the ones who reach awesome heights. Those are the ones that give hope to others. What is your challenge today? What are you doing to keep on keeping on towards that worthwhile pursuit?
My pursuit today is to complete the inside reconstruction of our home/office from the August 2009 hail damage, set up the video studio, and continue video blogging. It’s taken 3 times as long as I predicted, but it is near done, and done well. What a ride!
What is your worthwhile goal today? What do you need to do to make it happen? Get up one more time after that delay, mixup, misunderstanding or stumble. If it’s worth it, it’s worth doing well. Then, over time, your life will be built more solidly on a host of worthwhile foundations.
Have a great day.
Warmly,
Norm
