It is difficult to select a therapist or mental health professional when dealing with a psychologically abusive partner.
In this video I talk primarily about how a woman selects a counselor when dealing with psychological abuse within her marriage or primary relationship.
It is important when considering a counselor, that you take some time to ask a few questions before you decide to become a client of that therapist. Ask about their opinions on the type of psychological abuse that you’ve experienced. Ask for information regarding their breadth of understanding about mind games and psychological abuse. Then let the mental health professional talk for a while and as you listen, look for where they put the emphasis.
The way that they answer these types of questions will give you clues as to how experienced they are and how they will deal with the type of situation you are in. This information will help you to decide if this is the right counseling therapist for you.
Please take a look at the video and let me know if you have further questions or comments. I look forward to hearing from you.
With You in Mind,
